For the third consecutive year, the J.R. thegadgetnet.company is treating the Treasure Valley to free fries on “Fry”day, July 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. The event celebrates National French Fry Day as part of the Twilight Trifecta, which combines Free Fry Day with the kickoff of the Twilight Criterium and the awards ceremony of the Chrono Kristin Armstrong race, in a family-friendly celebration for the whole Treasure Valley.

365体育注册The free outdoor event will be held at the beautiful community gathering place on 9th Street between Simplot headquarters and JUMP. Simplot’s famous fryer, most recently used at the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, will be back in action, pumping out up to 2,000 pounds of fries an hour. In addition to eating tasty free fries, attendees are encouraged to bring donations to the Idaho Foodbank – anyone who donates $15 or more will receive a commemorative “Frydaho” t-shirt. Simplot’s sister company, C.S. Beef, is offering free slider hamburgers, and Boise Rock School will entertain guests of all ages with a variety of musicians on stage. Kristin Armstrong will also welcome a number of world-class cyclists at the event where the winners of a time-trial race will be crowned. Cyclists for Saturday’s Twilight Criterium will also be on-hand, joining Chrono riders in signing autographs for fans.
Last year, Free Fry Day served 1,500 pounds of fries to more than 4,000 attendees and raised enough money to provide more than 38,000 meals to Idahoans in need.
